Wiki Seasons Project

My wiki-like concept has been to jumpstart the development process, through a collaborative effort, in filling in the missing DMB seasons for the third-party, pre-1927 catalog. Heres a list of all the missing years that make up this wiki:

1896
1897
1898
1900 NL
1902
1904
1906
1907
1913
1916

Im doing the grunt work in providing the essentials of database construction. Besides having the database populated fully with player stats, I will have the Organizer information entered: teams, parks, players, leagues, orgs, eras, and as-played game logs along with the original regular season schedules (when available from Retrosheet).

Then, the Wiki Season gets posted.

There, the database will have all the adjustable settings and ratings defaulted to AV or neutral. Most seasons will have no manager profiles at first. A chart posted on the DMB Forum displays what will be provided with a Wiki Season release.

The wiki-ready platform jumpstarts the show to the next step: a general-release edition with complete roster information, player ratings, and manager tendencies. The last step is carefully developing the database into a deluxe edition with fully-researched transactions and as-played starting lineups.

As mentioned, the Wiki Seasons Project is a collaborative effort. DMBers have the chance to play with these exciting new seasons as they evolve through revisions, and those interested in a particular year can contact us to about upgrading the database into a full-bodied, CPS-style, or DPS-style release.
